In a previous life. before owning a studio and putting on a movement fest, Kristen was a Soil Scientist. Kristen’s experience starts with growing up on a farm and ranch in Southern Idaho. As a young child, she developed a deep reverence for the natural world around her which ultimately led her to a degree in Soil Science. After graduation, she moved to Flagstaff, Arizona where she worked for a federal agency called the Natural Resources Conservation Service. She mapped soils on the Navajo Reservation then transitioned into an Area Resource Conversation working directly with tribes and private land owners in putting conservation practices on the ground. She is very passionate about sharing her knowledge of soils and agriculture with children and anyone who is willing to listen.
